Treatments - What to Expect

Sessions are 60-90 minutes long and usually consist of a blend of various techniques such as CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, SomatoEmotional Release, Lymphatic Drainage and Acupressure dynamically to address the needs of the client. In most sessions, clients remain fully dressed; clothing should be loose and comfortable.

In a typical CranioSacral session, I begin by evaluating the rhythm of the nervous system throughout the body to ascertain where there are problem spots or "restrictions." Restrictions are areas where the connective tissue in the body is adhered to itself and therefore constricts the free flow of the muscles and nerves. Once these restrictions have been identified, the client is free either to enjoy the session in quiet or to dialogue with me about whatever he or she is experiencing during the session. Dialoging can be a helpful tool in facilitating a SomatoEmotional Release, or a release of long held emotions from the body.

For those who suffer from structural issues due to postural imbalances or repetitive stress injuries, I use a more aggressive technique called Myofascial Therapy that stretches the connective tissue sheaths that encapsulate muscles cells.
